We at Just Cats Veterinary Clinic know how important it is to get answers quickly and accurately. Diagnostic testing should be easy and readily available our clients without the wait for your more critical cases. We are now able to provide fast and accurate ultrasounds to our feline patients. 

Ultrasound examination permits us to view the internal or inner structures of the kidneys, liver and other abdominal organs, and allows the recognition of cysts and tumors. It is excellent for viewing the interior of hollow organs such as the bladder.

It helps in the diagnosis of a wide array off issues such as feline IBS and lymphoma.

We are able to provide this service and get you results within 1-5 business days of the ultrasound.

Our ultrasounds are done typically with gabapentin given orally 2-3 hours prior. We use mild sedation only if necessary, and our doctors will perform a brief exam to ensure the safety of anesthesia. We send the ultrasound out for interpretation with a radiologist and the results are reported back to our clients within days.

The ultrasounds are performed by our amazing veterinary technician, Trish Davis, who has been in the process of training in the past 4 years. She has done ultrasound training in Bedford, CT with Universal Imaging and has trained in the Sonopath Diagnostic Efficiency Program for 2 years. Most recently, she has completed their echo-cardiac 3 day wet lab. Since 2016, Trish has performed over 300 ultrasounds on felines! Currently, Trish is in progress of completing Sonopath’s Ultrasound Diagnostic Abdominal Certification Program, which requires at least a year’s training on ultrasound. Her goal is to help as many felines in the Capital District as she can!
